The hotel was clean but honestly, it's seen better days. The staff were friendly and you can sense they try hard, I had an interaction with a gentleman at the front desk who was very accommodating when I asked about room service.

I stayed for one night and found great spots nearby, like Riverfront Park just 500 meters away for a lovely stroll and Jimmy's on the James only a few steps from my hotel for a delicious meal. the comfy beds made my stay even better despite a few minor maintenance issues.

grand has a fantastic location! it's near the river and a lovely park. everything downtown is within walking distance, which makes exploring a breeze. the outdoor rooftop swimming pool was a great place to unwind after a day out. the fitness center was also a nice perk to keep up with workouts.

So we checked in and the staff was really nice! The lobby looked great too. When we got to our room, the AC wasn't working right and it was super hot. I had to go back down to get a different room. The second room was better with cold air, but the phone and TV had issues. Overall, not the best experience. They have a nice breakfast area though!
